SEC Tourney Time

Arkansas really needs to win the SEC tournament in order to advance to the NCAA. Many experts claim that Arkansas can get to the tourney by just getting to the championship game. I'm not so sure. With a 7-9 conference record, there are many teams ahead of Arkansas in the SEC. If Arkansas fails to make the tournament, Stan Heath will likely be fired. I'm interested to see what the Hogs can do, but I don't have my hopes up.

Mean 'ole Gus

The Razorback Nation has been divided since Gus (the offensive coordinator) left for Tulsa after one season with the Hogs. Mitch Mustain quit the team the day after Gus left. I think Mitch is a big baby, but to each his own. He really didn't look that impressive this season anyway.

Here is a funny pic of Nutt (head coach) on Frank's shoulders (athletic director).

My Birthday Yesterday

IMG_1279, originally uploaded by AndyPhotos.

Eventhough St. Louis was getting hit by an ice storm, it was still a good birthday. Andrew and I went to see the St. Louis Blues win at home while enjoying free food. The Blues beat the Kings 6 to 5. Let's go Blues!

I got this cool Matt Jones picture from mom.

Hogs Win SEC Western Division!!!

For the fourth time since joining the SEC in 1992, Arkansas’ football team has won the West after being picked to finish in the division’s lower half. The Razorbacks clinched the SEC West title outright by beating Mississippi State 28-14 on Saturday to improve to 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the conference. State stuffed the run most of the day, but McFadden still hurt them. He had a 100 yard kick off return for a touchdown, and some key runs in the fourth quarter. Go Hogs Go!!!

McFadden ran all over the Vols on Saturday as the hogs beat them 31-14 in

front of a rowdy crowd and ESPN GameDay. ESPN GameDay made their first

visit ever to Fayetteville, AR. Hogs are now ranked 5th in the AP poll and 7th

in the BCS. They are still undefeated in the SEC and have a record of 9-1.

McFadden's stock in the Heisman race definetley increased after

the victory.

Hogs whip #2 Auburn 27 - 10

WOW! What a great win the Hogs had on Saturday knocking off number 2 Auburn at their place 27 - 10. It was the biggest road win Arkansas has had since beating #1 Texas in 1964. The stars of the game were Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Mitch Mustain, and Marcus Monk. The defense also played great.

Wooo Pig! Soooie! GO Hogs GO!

Frog Level Plantation

My great-great-great grandfather William A. Frazier built this house around 1850 in Columbia county Arkansas (about 7 miles from Magnolia, AR). This house was a plantation, and had a slave quarters in the back. I do not know how many slaves William had. After researching cemetery records for Frazier cemetery, I did find a slave buried there with the name Jessie Frazier who died in 1886. After the civil war ended in 1865, William was forced to sell the house and land due to financial issues. The house is now privately owned.

The house is also on the national register for historical places. If you click on the house you can look up the registry number.

The house was also the site of the first court house for Columbia county Arkansas; although the marker has been moved from the exact location.

William Frazier was married to Elizabeth Sarah Pullig whom he met in South Carolina where he was originally born.
